Tantrum and Griffin Theatre are teaming up for a brand new (and totally free!) opportunity for aspiring young writers living in and around Lake Macquarie — Griffin’s ‘Unlocking the Local’ Young Playwrights Workshop will take place from Tuesday 3 January – Saturday 7 January 2023 at Warners Bay Theatre, baramayiba!

In partnership with Lake Macquarie Arts, this introduction to playwriting is open to 15 young writers in Years 10 – 12 in 2023.

Learn the basics of playwriting craft and storytelling from some of Australia’s most exciting young working writers. Workshop attendees will write a five-minute scene drawing from their own experiences as young people living regionally, and will build a dramatic landscape together to create an exciting living world.
