We’re swinging open the gates to Tantrum’s playground and inviting you in! We’re showcasing original new performances devised by Tantrum’s weekly workshop ensembles, and our Surge artists – Newcastle’s boldest early career artists.

Our new artists have spent the year exploring what happens when curiosity leads the way – and now they’re ready to share their discoveries with you. This is how Tantrum likes to play: through experimental, playful, original performance!

Are You Ready to Play is the culmination of Tantrum’s 49^th year, and we’re super-excited to be letting you in on all the details of what we have planned for our 50^th birthday in 2026.

So come play with us! Cheer, laugh, wonder, and celebrate the joy of creativity in motion. Because at Tantrum, the playground isn’t just where we start — it’s where we thrive!

Suggested donation is $20 per person.

Right to Play is Tantrum’s call to action, to open access, open participation and open arts opportunities for everyone, regardless of background or circumstance. Your support enables Tantrum to make sure that creativity, arts opportunities and belonging aren’t privileges, they’re rights.
