Brief info

Barnaby (Barney) Donaghy (he/him) is an emerging artist, based in Newcastle. Barney’s creative practice lies within pushing comfortabilities, producing entertainment for entertainment’s sake, and cultivating positive, comedic environments to create and perform in. Throughout his time studying a Bachelor of Communication (Theatre/Media) at Charles Sturt University, Barnaby wrote, directed, and performed in Uni revues, historical re-enactments, musicals, political thrillers, and more. Since graduation, Barnaby undertook residency with Tantrum Youth Arts creating short film Bruised (2021), played the role of Liam in Tantrum’s in-schools program Opening Doors: Digital (2022), and in 2023 performed in the sell-out seasons of Spewy by Ang Collins as part of New Annual, and A Midsummer Night's Dream by Whale Chorus. In 2024 he has performed with HER Productions in Romeo and Juliet, and Twelfth Night for Whale Chorus. He was the facilitating co-director on Tantrum's work for New Annual - WonderCity.
