After-School

Drama Workshops

Our weekly after-school drama workshops in Merewether and Lake Mac are designed for young people looking to share their ideas, connect with others, and engage in play. Every participant stands to grow in confidence and creativity while having fun and making new friends.

The program focuses on creativity, wellbeing and expression.

In Tantrum’s Drama Workshops, we don’t teach drama. We use drama.

Find out more about our Creative Drama Workshop philosophy here.

What does a Tantrum Workshop look like?

Tantrum believes that a workshop cohort should follow their own curiosity and ideas. Activities might include:

                          • drama games
                          • performance and improvisation
                          • story-telling
                          • character development
                          • writing
                          • devising scenes
                          • design
                          • …and so much more!

Workshops are delivered by experienced artists and facilitators. Our facilitators have current First Aid and Youth Mental Health First Aid training.

With a focus on creativity, wellbeing and resilience, Tantrum’s creative drama workshops are designed to empower young people with the skills and confidence to solve problems, collaborate, trust in their strengths and make their voices heard.

Tantrum’s Lake Mac Workshops are supported by Lake Macquarie City Council.
