Online Drama + Performance Workshops
Our weekly afternoon workshops invite young people from diverse backgrounds with unique interests to come as they are. Some love drama and performance and want to pursue a professional career. Some consider themselves artistic in a different way while others don’t at all. Every young person stands to grow in confidence and creativity while having fun and making new friends at the same time.
Our workshops follow the school term (excluding the first week) and are available for young people aged between 5 and 21.
Term 2 2020: Online Drama + Performance Workshops
In Term 2 2020, our Drama + Performance Workshops will be delivered online.
Tantrum is offering online Drama + Performance Workshops on the same weekday afternoons and across the same age brackets as previous terms (see below). Using video conferencing platform Zoom, participants will have the opportunity to directly engage with our amazing Workshop Facilitators who have thought outside-the-box to design sessions tailored to inside the home setting. Participants will connect with each other over fun games and activities while working together on a group project, all aimed at developing imagination, teamwork and resilience in the face of a global pandemic.

What might Tantrum Drama + Performance Workshops look like in Term 3?
Responding to health advice, Term 3 may continue to be delivered remotely or look more like previous terms. We will continue to communicate with participants and families to support young people through the transition. Fees and contact hours may be adjusted as physical distancing restrictions are reduced.
Please note: Term fees for each online workshop are highly subsidised (see below) to account for any financial hardship families may face. At the same time, these fees will help ensure our artists are paid fairly and the organisation is sustainable during this evolving situation. We will continue to offer our Tantrum OPEN Scholarship program for young people facing disadvantage. The length of each online workshop is equal to half the duration of the corresponding on-site workshop (see below). Each online workshop will engage a small number of participants, with a lower capacity than the corresponding on-site workshop. This will ensure that every participant is given the opportunity to contribute to the group conversation and participate in a high-quality offering. Accordingly, we may offer multiple weekly online workshops for a given age bracket (depending on registration numbers), allowing participants to nominate up to three other participants they would like to be grouped with.
We will be providing further information prior to the beginning of Term 2, including how to access online workshops and what we’re doing to keep our tribe connected and safe during this time.
