Tantrum Outpost
Dungog
Tantrum Outpost is our exciting new initiative to establish ongoing creative workshop programs for young people in regional areas led by regional artists, through training and support from Tantrum.
In partnership with Arts Upper Hunter, the first Tantrum Outpost commenced in Dungog in 2021. This consisted of a creative residency and community consultation in April 2021, and a weekly Drama + Performance Workshop program for young people.
Weekly Creative Drama Workshops
In general, Tantrum’s weekly workshops invite young people from diverse backgrounds with unique interests to come as they are. Some love drama and performance and want to pursue a professional career. Some consider themselves artistic in a different way while others don’t at all. Every young person stands to grow in confidence and creativity while having fun and making new friends at the same time!
As vehicles for following their own curiosity and ideas, participants will explore;
- drama
- performance
- theatre-making
- story-telling
- improvisation
- character development
- writing
- devising
- design
- plus much more!
With a focus on creativity, wellbeing and resilience, Tantrum’s weekly workshops are designed to empower young people with the skills and confidence to solve problems, collaborate, trust in their strengths and make their voices heard.
Dungog High School students should contact their school drama department to express their interest.
