What does a Tantrum Workshop look like?

Tantrum believes that a workshop cohort should follow their own curiosity and ideas. Activities might include:

                          • drama games
                          • performance and improvisation
                          • story-telling
                          • character development
                          • writing
                          • devising scenes
                          • design
                          • …and so much more!

Workshops are delivered by experienced artists and facilitators. Our facilitators have current First Aid and Youth Mental Health First Aid training.

With a focus on creativity, wellbeing and resilience, Tantrum’s creative drama workshops are designed to empower young people with the skills and confidence to solve problems, collaborate, trust in their strengths and make their voices heard.

Can parents participate too?

At Tantrum we aim to create a safe, welcoming and inclusive space for young people to feel comfortable to express themselves creatively. While we don’t ordinarily invite parents to join in on the workshops, you are very welcome to stay on-site during your child’s workshop and enjoy a hot cuppa in the Tantrum Office. This will mean that you are close by if your child needs to check in with you throughout the workshop, while still giving all the young people in the workshop their own space to connect and create. Once per term we invite parents/carers into the workshop space to experience a taste of what the workshops are all about and this is a great opportunity for parents to join in if they’re keen!
